Educational Tour Program

Columbia Metropolitan Airport's Educational Tour Program focuses on educating your group about the day to day operations of the airport.  Your tour will include brief descriptions of the airlines, the terminal, various areas of airport operations, our two runways and the numerous facilities located at the airport.  These educational tours are conducted by members of the Airport's Marketing Staff.

Our airport tours are fun for any ages 5 and up to senior citizens are welcomed.  There is no minimum number for a tour, but groups with more than 50 individuals will need to make special arrangements when scheduling their tour.  Tours last approximately one hour and there is no charge.  Complimentary parking is also provided.

Tours are conducted on:
Monday - Thursday
Between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m

Contact the tour office at (803) 822-5129 or toll free at 1-888-562-5002 and ask to be transferred to the tour office.

Please have the following information available when scheduling a tour.

  • Name of your group
  • Name of the person scheduling the group
  • Telephone Number & Mailing Address of the contact person
  • Ages and Number of people in the group

Friendly Reminders

  • Arrive on time
  • Please notify airport of any changes to your group prior to arriving for your tour
  • Storage is NOT available. Coats will be placed in a separate area
  • Wear comfortable clothes and shoes
  • Please notify the airport's tour office if your group must change or cancel their tour

Scavenger Hunt

The Columbia Metropolitan Airport is introducing a new tour for Girl Scout and Boy Scout groups.  If your group is trying to earn their travel badges, check us out.  This scavenger hunt contains 37 questions or items to locate within the airport's terminal building.

Sample Items/Questions
Go to an airline ticket counter and get a luggage tag.
Where are the television screens (flight monitors) located?
Does the airport ever close?
What design is in the carpet down in baggage claim?

The Airport's Fire Department:

The Airport has its own fire/rescue department located on the airport property.  Tours are available to this facility.  Please ask about how your group can include this on their tour.

All tours are subject to change or cancellation, based on prevailing security measures. Your group will be notified by a member of the Airport's Marketing Staff, if your group's tour has to be changed or cancelled.
