Airport Commission Votes to Improve Ground Transportation Service
(Cayce) Members of the Richland-Lexington Airport Commission voted Monday to
improve Columbia Metropolitan Airport’s ground transportation by awarding contracts for airport taxi service to three of the city’s most respected operators Checker Yellow, Capital City Cab and Blue Ribbon Cab Co. which is also a minority owned business.
The decision comes as airport leadership continues to remain focused on the customer experience.
“These three companies have been vetted and have demonstrated that they can meet the airport rules and regulations requirements,” says airport Director Dan Mann. “These businesses also share our commitment to providing excellent customer service. They have 24/7 dispatch service, offer flat rate fees and, more importantly, they have access to Fort Jackson.”
Checker Yellow, Capital City Cab and Blue Ribbon Cab Co already operate at the airport; allowing for a seamless transition for the airport’s new ground-transportation policy.
